If you have read earlier posts of mine, you would understand the struggle I’ve had with getting an authentic GT-1 bumper. I’ve been trying to get my hands on this bumper since March of 2016, and to date, I still do not have one. First had problems with a company known as Right Hand drive, whom will never get my business, nor should they get yours. Queue problem number two:
My bumper finally arrived, sign the package, courier takes off, bring it in the garage, open it up and get excited to text fit it on the car. Only to find this:
When I opened the box, i was a little surprised with how it was packaged, very loosely in a large box, with not very much protection, and can’t say I’m too pleased, especially since I spent a little over $2000. I finally was able to get a hold of RHD japan, and refused the package, as they said they would have a replacement sorted for me. So far, absolutely no complaints about RHD japan, as they have handled the situation very well, and I’m very happy with their service, despite the recent delays they have had with response time regarding the issue.
Its such a shame to see a work of automotive art, damaged like this 😦
So, with that being said, I don’t think the car will be getting paint this year, as winter is coming very soon, which means the car will be going into the garage soon for a few months of hibernation. To be fair though, even if the bumper wasn’t damaged, I don’t think it would have been a great decision to paint the car this late in the season anyways. Whats the point? To collect dust, and possibly inherit some more door bangs, or some dog fur from my “species confused” dog who believes its a cat and has to lean up against my car and scratch itself multiple times per day on the intercooler haha.
